Scottish wedding in a Chianti Castle
Once upon a time there was a Russian bride, a Scottish groom and a castle in the Chianti vineyards.
If I had to find some keywords to describe the special day of these two lovers, they would certainly be: simplicity and spontaneity. The wedding of Yulia and Ronald, a Scottish couple, was intimate and genuine, just like their love.
To make the moment even more romantic, the film location chosen by the two spouses for their wedding in Tuscany was the magnificent Castle Il Palagio, a medieval venue of 13th century in the Chianti hills. I deeply fell in love with the ancient cloister and the breathtaking view of the Chianti vineyards.
They got married in mid-october, sourrounded by most close family and friends: they actually invited for their “I do” only 15 guests, the 10 year old son and the two beloved Scottish Terrier dogs.
The affection and the caring of everyone was strong, from the arrival at the castle with the melody of the bagpipe of the awesome musician Nick McVicar in background until the bouquet toss.
The castle have an internal Chatolic chapel for religious weddings, but Yulia and Ronald chopse the couryard for their legal civil ceremony. The ceremony concluded by a traditional Scottish rite: a silver cup, aged whiskey and fraternal exchange between all those present. What a thrill!
After the ceremony we enjoyed a cocktail and then moved to the iconic sites of Florence, such Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo, Duomo, for the couple shooting.
The same relaxed atmosphere of the wedding shines through each photo. The scottish couple was always natural and spontaneous, especially Yulia, that impressed me for her spirit, a real model of love, freedom and joy.
This is the story of Yulia and Ronald, a wedding made of kilts, whiskeys and freedom.
